Virtual integration of Automotive Hard- and Software with Silver
نویسنده
چکیده
Silver is a tool used by automotive development engineers to integrate and test control software virtually us ing simulation on Windows PCs. Silver provides built-in support for automotive standards such as A2L, MDF, CAN, and XCP to perform co-execution of control software and vehicle simulation models. In this paper, we describe Silver and its application to automotive software development.

Chip simulation used to run automotive software on PC
Simulation has great potential to improve the development process for automotive ECUs. Simulation helps to move development tasks to PC, where they often can be performed faster, cheaper or better. However, development tasks such as calibration and test are typically performed by an OEM, while the ECU code is owned by the supplier of the ECU. Therefore, the OEM is often unable to set up a simul...
متن کاملA Software Architecture for Collaborative Virtual Prototyping
Prototype design and testing is an indispensable stage of any project development in many fields of activity, such as aeronautical, spatial, automotive industries or architecture. This paper describes the collaborative and distributed aspects of PROVIS, a system for prototyping virtual systems. The main goal of our work is to allow designers to replace physical mock-ups by virtual ones in order...
متن کاملDependable Reuse & Guarded Integration of Automotive Software Components Approaches to Conditional Specification & Assurance
The assembly of software components to a properly functioning system is a key problem in the development and maintenance of software for safetycritical, real-time systems. The integration of binary components may take place during integration testing or at run time (updates, patches, adaptation, ...). It would be even more advantageous to be able to integrate components “virtually” already duri...
متن کاملFaster Development of AUTOSAR compliant ECUs through simulation
Virtualization allows the simulation of automotive ECUs on a Windows PC executing in a closed-loop with a vehicle simulation model. This approach enables moving many development tasks from road or test rigs and HiL (Hardware in the loop) to PCs, where they can often be performed faster and cheaper. Technical challenge: How to port ECU tasks and basic software to Windows PC with reasonable effor...
متن کاملComputing Welding Distortion: Comparison of Different Industrially Applicable Methods
Welding distortion is one of the major concerns of the industrial joining practice. In order to obtain optimal welding parameters many experiments have to be carried out. Numerical simulation enables a virtual examination of the welding distortion without performing expensive experiments. In this contribution some industrially applicable methods of weld modeling are discussed. They enable the f...
